On June 6, 2007, the community of Davis Islands approved a vision plan for the future of the islands, the Davis Islands Community Plan. Following the community’s approval, Tampa City Council approved the plan on November 15, 2007.
The Davis Islands Community Plan called for the establishment of a Stewardship Team to oversee implementation. To implement a vision plan, actions for achieving the vision must be identified and prioritized.
In the first year after forming in January 2008 and at the direction of the City Administration, the Davis Islands Community Plan Stewardship Team developed the strategic component of the plan. The Stewardship Team sought input on the strategic actions from all community stakeholders and City staff, completing the work on June 25, 2008.
